A Versa Chat with Member Peggy Wells
Our coworking members are incredibly generous—in the community, with each other, and particularly with us. Recently, Peggy Wells, who joined the maven team as the Manager of IT Delivery in February, was generous enough to chat with me, and I am so excited to share all of her success since joining the Versa family.
In her first month, Peggy successfully placed 11 people into IT roles for her clients—a huge victory!
Peggy attributes her success to a few things:
- Mindset – Recruiting is not an easy job. You have to stay focused. You have to be honest with yourself, the client, and your candidates, and you have to have pride in the work you do. "You have to make sure your heart is in the right place. We're not a body shop; we are open with our candidates and we take the time to understand where the candidate is in their career and life."
- Personality – Peggy uses her natural competitiveness to drive her work, but her approach is always genuine. She seeks to build relationships with her candidates first through genuine communication and ensuring they see her as someone who is approachable and can help guide them through the process.
- Inspirational work environment – Versa Arena District has become a second home for Peggy. The decor, the calm ambience, and the ability to meet clients and candidates inside the space help to create a solid foundation for her future relationships and communication.
Peggy ended our conversation by saying, "I want everyone to enjoy what they do. You can teach someone how to do a job, but you can't teach them to be passionate about it."
